Some Qs & As…

Quite a few readers have emailed me questions over the last few months.  Many of those questions fell into the same categories, so instead of providing the same answers over and over again, I thought it was faster just to post them here.  If your question isn’t one of the ones listed below, send it in and I promise to think about answering it at some point in the future.

Question 1: Is Village Books based on a real bookstore?

Answer: Yes and no.  The bookstore is fake, but some of the people are not.  Out of respect for their privacy, I would never mention some of them (Matt Damon, for example) by name.

Question 2: When will the other books be available in paperback?

Answer: Possibly soon, but more likely not.  In the name of conservation, I have insisted that all future editions of Village Books be printed on stone tablets instead of paper, but this has rendered the shipping costs prohibitive.  It also meant that people in line at book signings were waiting an average of six hours per copy.

Question 3: When is the next book coming out?

Answer: Hard to say as my day job keeps me extremely busy.  At the moment, most of my energy is going into the development of a new type of insurance coverage for people who suffer death or injury while posing with large, predatory animals that are not quite as dead as their hunting guide says they are.

Question 4: When is your next public appearance?

Answer: In about five minutes.  I really like the new burrito place just down the street.

Question 5: What’s the best way to contact you?

Answer: I would advise against it.  Any correspondence should be forwarded to my agent, who is required by law to know my whereabouts at all times.  You can follow me on Twitter (@cmvillagebooks), but only if you’re willing to put up with a lot of FC Barcelona retweets and trash talking of both Real Madrid and the orange-tinted idiot currently occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW.
